The Book Scoop opened its doors on May 17, 2010 as a way to talk about my favorite YA books that I’m reading. I’m an avid reader of romance, chick lit and Young Adult and I’ve been reading for pleasure since 1999. You’ll find all of my YA and chick lit stuff here on this blog and all of my thoughts on the more adult fiction over at my team book blog, Book Binge.

I started blogging back in 2006 with six of my friends (shout outs to Isabel, Holly, Nicole, Daphne and Grace) as a way to keep track of the books that everyone was reading and while it was fun, I broke away from Sanctuary’s Finest and started Book Binge with Holly, Isabel and then later came Casee. We continue to blog over there now and it’s grown into such a wonderful blog that we all know and love. I began reviewing books as a way to keep my friends abreast of what I’m reading, loving and sometimes hating. My blogging addiction started then and it hasn’t slowed since (well, hasn’t slowed for long anyway).

When I’m not blogging, you can usually find me sitting quietly (or anti-socially if you’re my sister) in the bleachers at my daughter Brenna’s basketball games or practices reading or if not that, then I’m usually at home catching up on my favorite television shows like Dexter, The Vampire Diaries, The Good Wife and Glee. I come from a large Polynesian family who are huge Los Angeles Lakers fans and you can usually find me tweeting my heart out on game days along with the rest of the Lakers nation. My favorite Young Adult authors include Meg Cabot, Sarah Dessen, Suzanne Collins, Kristin Cashore, Rachel Vincent and Melissa De La Cruz.
