I'm Blog Hoppin' This Weekend...

Posted by Rowena at 1:35 PM
This is probably the worst weekend to participate in this blog hop but I'm here at work and though I have plans for tonight and tomorrow night, I'll be able to get some hopping in this afternoon, tomorrow morning and then all day Sunday and Monday so I'm going to go ahead and throw myself into this week's book blogger hop. The weekly blog hop is hosted by Crazy-for-Books so if you want to participate, stop by her blog and sign up.

The rules are pretty simple (this is taken right from Crazy For Books):

RULES:

1. Enter your book blog link in the Linky List below
In your link, please state the main genre that you review: eclectic, contemp. fiction, ya, paranormal, mystery, non-fiction, etc. Please do not list every genre you review - if you are review a variety, please put eclectic! The Hop gets jumbled up if the title is too long, so please limit to one genre. I will be limiting the number of characters in the title to ensure the Hop doesn't look messy! Thank you!
Example: Crazy-for-Books (literary fiction)

2. Post about the Hop on your blog. Spread the word about the book party! The more the merrier! In your blog post, answer the following question (new question each week!). I have to thank my friend, Lori, for this week's question! I was drawing a blank and she came up with this fab question! If you have a question that could be used in a future Hop, leave it in the comments! Thanks!
Who is your favorite new-to-you author so far this year?

2. Visit other blogs in the Linky List! Make new friends! Follow new book bloggers! Talk about books! Rave about authors! Take the time to make a quality visit! Check out other posts and content, make a new friend! Don't randomly follow someone if you never intend on actually following them! No spamming please! (Please do not leave your link and not visit other blogs - it's just not cool and not in the spirit of the Hop!)

It's not so hard so come on, join up and let's meet some new bloggers, shall we?

This week's question is: Who is your favorite new-to-you author so far this year?

So far, my favorite new-to-me author would have to be Sarah Dessen. She writes the kind of stories that I love to read and I haven't read a book by her that I haven't either absolutely loved or liked it one way or another. She's a great author and I'm glad that I still have books by her that I get to read the first time. Woo hoo, lots to look forward to.

Now, I'm off to blog hop. If you're visiting from the hop....WELCOME! I hope you guys have a great weekend!

Hugs,

Hey Rowena!

Thanks so much for stopping by Mindful Musings! I'm glad you like my blog!

As far as The Iron Fey series goes...I love both Ash and Puck. If I HAD to pick one though...it would probably be Puck.

I have a lot of Sarah Dessen books sitting on my bookshelf, but I don't think I've ever actually read one of them! Crazy, right?

Have a great weekend!

Sarah Dessen-I have never read her books. What one should I read first? I found you on the blog hop! Stop over at mine if you would like :) www.dearestdreams.com

Natalie,

I'm kind of glad that you chose Puck because now it means that I don't have share Ash with you too, =P. Just kidding, I like Puck as well because he's a lot more playful than Ash but for some reason, it's Ash that makes my lady parts beep! haha.

Thanks for stopping by my blog, I really appreciate it.

Christy,

Thanks for stopping by my blog. Sarah Dessen is a wonderful YA contemporary romance author and if I had to choose one book for you to start with, I think I'd go with either The Truth about Forever or Along for the Ride. Both books are great!

Have a great weekend! I'm on my way to your blog right now!

Rats! Christy, I'm going to have to wait until I get home to comment on your blog, the comment widget that you use on your blog is blocked here at work (darnit!) so I'll be back for sure!

I fell in love with Sarah Dessen this year too! She's so great. I wasn't crazy about the first book of hers that I read (Lock and Key) but a friend convinced me to read a few other books and I'm glad I did. Great pick.

Hi Rowena,

I'm just hopping by. I haven't heard of Sarah Dessen (which doesn't mean anything - I've probably been living under a rock!).

However, I'll have to check her out now.

Thanks everyone for stopping by my blog. It's always great to see new faces around here. I really appreciate it!

Amanda,

If you like YA contemporary romances than Sarah Dessen is a must read! She writes wonderful contemporary YA romances.

Lover of Romance,

Thanks for your kind words. I love this little space as well. It's a great way to spend some time, that's for sure.

Ms. C,

I'm a follower of your blog as well so I look forward to reading your reviews. Have fun!

Larissa,

You run a great blog so I'm a follower. I can't wait to read more, you read a lot of the books that I either love or want to read myself.

Megan,

Oh that's too bad that you didn't like Lock and Key. While that book isn't one of my favorites, I still enjoyed it. My favorite SD book is The Truth about Forever. I love me some Wes!
